We own a fleet of 24 aircraft that
includes 12 dedicated, licensed air ambulances and two new Bell 222 helicopters. The balance of the
fleet consists of economical aircraft used to transport flight staff,
supplies, and equipment to the bases we
We maintain our own aircraft and
are federally qualified (through our 4 FAA Part 145 Certificates,
15 licensed A & P mechanics and 4 IA’s) to work on propellers,
airframes, instruments, avionics and engines.
We supply multiple crews and aircraft
at our bases to provide our customers timely service 24 hours a
day, seven days a week. Owning and operating a large fleet of air ambulances and staffing
our bases with multiple flight crews affords us the unique
ability to transport multiple patients simultaneously. We
have the capability of launching 7 air ambulances simultaneously.
The 7th patient and his/her family are as important to Sun Care
as the first and should not be kept waiting for needed medical care.
Sun Care Air Ambulance supports the communities
we serve through the promotion and sponsorship of community
health and educational projects such as participation in community
health fairs and ACLS, PALS, TNCC, etc. The
Sun Care team also serves as members of interdisciplinary community
and state committees. Sun Care Air Ambulance believes in
the importance of participation in interdisciplinary community quality
management projects such as Community Emergency Plans, and our employees
belong to and/or serve on the Board of Directors of several community
and service organizations.
